18 Goals for 2018

Yes I know it is a bit late!! But Freddie only went back to school today so with everything else this unfortunately went on the back burner. However, I am now raring to go so here are my goals for 2018

1. Lose Weight

This is a big one for me, as I was adamant I would lose 3 stone before turning 40 in December, however, with the all inclusive in Jamaica, and Christmas / New Year and Freddie’s 8th birthday I did not achieve this. So this weight needs to be gone!

2. Get Fit

This is another big one, I hate exercise…. We purchased a bowflex max trainer last year and it is now in the garage! After being used possibly only once by me, at the weekend this is coming back into the house and my plan is to use it at least 3 times a week. I work from home, so this should not be a problem.

3. Drink Less

I am not ashamed to say I absolutely love both wine and gin, however, I shouldn’t be drinking as much! So I intend to only drink on a Friday and Saturday night and not drink every day. Now this sounds like I am an alcoholic! I am not of course, but I do enjoy a glass of wine every day.

4. Be a better mummy

I know we all strive to be the best we can for our children, but, I think with the amount I have been working over the last 4 months I have been very guilty of sitting Freddie in front of the TV or computer games while I finish writing another article, or clean. So this year my plan is to be more organised while he is at school and at home times do more homework with him and play games.

5. Be a better wife

Now personally I think I am amazing just the way I am!! But I am always working, this is no problem when Stu is in Germany every other week, but not so great when he has a long day and I just ignore him!

6. Keep the house clean

Now I do have a cleaner, however, she only comes every other week, so I need to keep on top of the cleaning every day so it doesn’t all pile up on top of me. I have always been very house proud, but I have certainly let things slip a little.

Now enough about me here are my goals for Freddies Mummy UK blog.

7. Try and work out Pinterest!

This is something I have never really understood, mainly as I don’t use it personally. But I know it is a great way to generate leads so I really need to start making an effort.

8. Set up my vlog

This I am still not sure about, I hate people looking at me as it is and especially as I feel like a beached whale, this I think will be set up towards the end of the year, when I feel a bit better about myself.

9. Facebook

This has only been set up for a week now, so I really need to try and grow this platform.

10. Engage with other bloggers

I have recently joined a few Facebook groups and I need to more active to try and make some new “friends”.

11. Understand what a linky is!

I keep hearing everyone talk about it, but I have absolutely no idea what it is or what it entails? So this is an important one, as I believe it is a good way of getting seen.

12. Blog at least 3 times a week.

As I am a new blogger this has been very sporadic at the minute, so make sure it is more organised.

13. Start a mailing list

Now this one is a hard one as I am still to work out how to get subscribers, but this is an area I MUST focus on in the coming months. No idea how yet, but watch this space!

14. Increase my DA.

Now of course as I am a new blogger this is effectively zero, so I need to work hard to increase this.

15. Create a media kit

I have been very lucky in the short time I have been blogging to be able to work with a lot of lovely companies, but I need to make myself look more professional to new companies.

16. Take better photos

I currently take all photos on my phone. Now I know this is a big no no, especially as I have a “proper” camera. So I need to work out how it works and actually use it, rather than being lazy and taking average photos.

17. Start scheduling posts

I have a tailwind account but I need to actually use it. I know it will save me no end of time and hopefully help certainly with Pinterest so I really need to make more of an effort.

18. Growing on social media platforms

I have been very fortunate that I have been growing on social media at a rate of 10% per week, now I know this will be very difficult to maintain as I currently have a combined  following of 5k, but I need to make sure I keep up the memento.

A big thank you to Amy at All About a Mummy and Mandi at Hex Mum Blog for tagging me in this post.
