Every kid dreams of going to Disneyland, the one attraction Anaheim is most famous for, but there are so many other things to see and do with the kids that you could keep going for weeks, never seeing them all! If you are planning a summer vacation to take in Disneyland and other attractions, here are some ideas of attractions you just might want to add to your itinerary.
Disclosure – this is a collaboration post
Knott’s Berry Farm
Like Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm is a theme park with so many rides and games for kids that one single day just isn’t enough. However, with so many other things to see and do, probably all you’ll have time for is a single day at each of the attractions. You did, after all, get a weekend family pass for Disney, so your time is limited. The one thing to be mindful of is that many of their roller coasters are a bit too high, steep and fast for real little people, so if mom and dad want the thrill of riding GhostRider or Xcelerator, maybe bring along a nanny to mind the kids while you take the plunge.
Discovery Cube Orange County
Anaheim, located in Orange County and just outside of Los Angeles, is also home to the Discovery Cube Science Center and Museum. This would be one of the times you would want to don those fashionable yet extremely comfortable Balenciaga sneakers you packed for the trip. Just because you are on a family vacation, doesn’t mean you need to leave fashion at home. You won’t be alone, however, because Balenciaga is a brand quite popular in Hollywood, and you are likely to see celebs walking in your shoes – literally! Check out the shoes on this site so that you are prepared with sneakers that are trendy enough for your fashion sense but comfortable enough for your mom-sense!
Actually located in LA, Angel Stadium is home of the Los Angeles Angels pro baseball team and a place where you really must visit if you want to keep dad happy. He may not be an Angel’s fan, but what dad would want to visit a city that is home to a pro baseball team without catching a game there? Who knows, he, or one of the kids, might even catch a wayward ball that makes its way into the stands!
Anaheim ICE – The Rinks
This is an interesting stop on your journey through Southern California because you really wouldn’t expect to be seeing much ice, now would you? The concept is to promote ice skating in all ages, so why not don a pair of skates and get out there on the ice with your kids? It’s not as embarrassing as you think. If they can do it, you can!
So, while Anaheim and Disney are often synonymous, there are other things to see and do while in Southern California. Just remember to wear comfortable clothes and shoes, because you won’t make it through the second day without them. This is where a good pair of sneakers really do come in handy!
