We spent the weekend in London at the amazing Kidzania London.
What is Kidzania?
It is a city for kids. The kids have to do jobs to earn a salary, KidZos, and then they spend their Kidzos on fun activities.
Honestly, it is absolutely brilliant. There is pretty much every job you can think of here, but our favourites are:
- Police Officer
- Weather reporter – News reporter – TV Production
- Air conditioning engineer
- University of Kidzania
- Nintendo LABO
- Cadbury Chocolate Making
- Eat Natural making healthy snacks
Where is Kidzania London?
It is right in the middle of the Westfield Shopping Centre in London. Located on the first floor next to Marks and Spencers. The nearest tube stations are either Shepherds Bush or Wood Lane and they are both only a 5 minute walk. If you are spending the weekend in London check out 17 of the best things to do with kids in London.
It is absolutely huge, there are two levels.
Kidzania have sites all around the world as well as can be seen here:
What age is Kidzania London Suitable for?
Children aged 4-14, however they do have a dedicated early years area for children under this age.
Safety at Kidzania London
It is completely secure. When you first arrive everyone is fitted with an RFID security bracelet with a radio frequency antenna and an identification chip installed. No child will be able to exit KidZania Westfield without being matched to the adult who was present at arrival. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a paying adult, however, children over the age of 8 are allowed in by themselves, as long as an adult is there to sign them in.
The first time we went we followed Freddie around the whole time, but as he is 8 this time we let the boys wander off on their own.
Food at Kidzania
There is an adult seating area on the first floor, and there are plenty of places to buy a coffee.
We had lunch in the Fire House, which was delicious, we had a pizza and the spaghetti bolognaise. The only complaint I would make is there is hardly any seating, only about 8 stools?
Whats on at Kidzania
There are themed months / weeks as well. When we were there it was Book of the Month with Pet Defenders Author, Gareth P. Jones. There is a STEAM week, a parliament week, so check these out before you go.
Review of Kidzania London
You get 4 hours to do as many of the activities as you can, it isn’t possible to do them all in this time, so make sure your kids do their favourites first.
This is our second time of visiting Kidzania, and both times we have been super impressed. It is not only fun for the children it is incredibly educational as well. Adults are not allowed in the activity areas, however, the rooms are all quite small and there are lots of windows so you can still see your children. Check out The Money Whisperers review of Kidzania too.
We absolutely love it and would highly recommend it to anyone.
