All About Christmas
When do you put your Christmas decorations up?
The first weekend in December so this year the Sunday the 2nd and they come down 31st December. I LOVE the fairy lights and actually have some up in my living room all year round. I have several new decorations that I cannot wait to unwrap.
What is your favourite Christmas song and why?
All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey because it reminds me of Love Actually.
If you do any Christmas arts and craft what are they?
We used to but as the children have grown up it’s stopped (they are 8 and 11). We do usually bake though with varying degrees of success.
Do you have the Elf on the Shelf come to visit?
No I find it a tad creepy!
What is your favourite thing to bake for Christmas?
It’s got to be mince pies. I’m not a natural baker though and cheat with ready made pastry. We sometimes make gingerbread and sausage rolls too.
Do you have a Christmas Eve Box for your kids? If so what is included?
No but mine always have new pyjamas.
Do you go to either midnight mass or a Christingle church service?
No again (wow I sound boring!) We are not a religious household.
What time will you get up on Christmas morning?
Usually about 6am although 8am would be amazing.
Who will you be spending Christmas Day with? Are you doing the cooking?
It’s usually us 4, my brother, brother-in-law, sister and her 2 children. My mum & partner alternate. It’s quite busy from 12 o’clock with a more relaxed morning. My partner does the cooking on Christmas day.
If money was no object what would you be asking Santa for this Christmas?
A few holidays! The kids would love to go back to Lanzarote, I want to try Ibiza & Croatia and my partner would love to go skiing.
How do you celebrate New Years Eve?
I LOVE Christmas (well from 1st December to 27th December) BUT am an absolute new year bah humbug. The enforced jollyment, expensive taxis and new years resolutions get on my nerves. We usually have an early meal out and then watch crap telly with our feet up.
