As a family we don’t actually watch TV. OK that is not entirely true, we don’t watch TV when it is happening (and yes I do still have a TV licence, just in case!).
Freddie tends to watch TV on catch up and Stuart and I tend to only watch box sets.
This year however, as I know there is some amazing stuff on I thought I would write a list of things we will be watching this Christmas.
UK Christmas TV 2018 For 9 Year Old Boys
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show
BBC1 on Christmas Day (Tuesday 25th December) at 6:45pm
As I had already mentioned we don’t watch TV, but, Freddie’s grandma and grandad do! When we went to the opera earlier this month Freddie stayed with them, and came home telling us all about this show. Now when I found out it was on at 9pm normally, I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be appropriate. So we sat down and watched the first episode on catch up. Wow, this is almost like it was made for Freddie! We sat and laughed so much. So we can not wait for this new episode on Christmas Day we will definitely be watching this live.
Midnight Gang – David Walliams
BBC1 on Boxing Day (Wednesday 26th December) at 7.30pm.
Well we are all so excited about this. Freddie’s favourite author at the minute is David Walliams and he finished this book at the end of November. He is now reading his new book the Ice Monster, and on Chapter 3 he thinks this might be his new favourite! David Walliams is an absolute legend so I know this will be an absolutely amazing film.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
BBC1 on 27th December at 1.30pm
I think now Freddie is 9 he will love these movies. We haven’t watched them before but with all the action I am sure these will be right down his street.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
BBC1 on 28th December at 1.15pm
A life time ago I went to Petra in Jordan which was breathtaking so I can’t wait to watch this film again.
But that is about it! There is lots on though for younger children like Zog and other Julia Donaldson books are also on over Christmas.
The only other thing we will definitely be watching will be Luther which starts again on New Year’s Day 2019 at 9pm on BBC1. Now obviously this will just be myself and Stuart watching this. But I LOVE Idris Elba and the previous series have all been amazing.
What will you be watching this Christmas on TV? Please let me know in the comments below.
